Free LUNs reporting wrong information for Oracle Pillar devices

Table of contents

Overview

Free LUNs reporting wrong information in STM for Oracle Pillar device. Storage Manager reports assigned LUNs within the “Free LUNs” report.

Environment

All STM versions

Cause

When an LUN is properly mapped to a host, there should be an association between CIM_SCSIProtocolController and CIM_StorageVolume. This association is missing for some of the assigned LUNs in Oracle Pillar Axiom provider. The provider returned association class instance for some of the mapped LUNs while at the same time not returning association class instances for many assigned LUNs. Oracle found the root cause of this issue in the provider and they have a fix targeted for the next release.
