Executive Storage Summary report information is incomplete

Overview

Storage Manager support for IBM SVC V7000 only includes External Storage Disks at this time. If the customer has internal storage disks, some of the storage reports will display empty values and will show a licensing count mismatch. Hotfix 2 (EOQ Hotfix) for Storage Manager 5.3.3 was provided to address this issue.

Environment

STM v5.3

STM v5.3.1

STM v5.3.3

Resolution

Note: If you are running an STM version earlier than v5.3.3, you must update first to v5.3.3 before doing this procedure.

1. Apply Hotfix 2 for Storage Manager 5.3.3
2. Perform the following steps which will allow a manual database cleanup after Hotfix2 has been applied:

  • Create a SQL script - "delete from ent_san_storage_current where deviceid in ( <list>);"</list>

            /* Example:
           delete from ent_san_storage_current where deviceid in (101,107,108);
           */

  • In the where clause, retrieve the corresponding Device ID (which is showing incomplete data in the  Executive Storage Summary report) from Storage Manager and substitute in the place holder “ <list>”</list>
  • Open command prompt (Run as Administrator) and navigate to “<stm>\mysql\bin”</stm>

  • Run the command "mysql -uadmin -p storage" which prompts for a mysql password. Please enter the database password which would present in “server.properties” file in “<stm>\webapps\ROOT\bin” directory.</stm>

  • Execute the the SQL Script and once completed, exit from the command prompt.

  • Validate the report after executing the above steps.
