Overview

Intermittent issues with assets data collection from some ESX hosts.

Environment

  • STM 6.2.x
  • Windows 2008 (server)
  • Windows 2012 (agent)

Resolution

  1. Login to the agent server and using services.msc.
  2. Stop the SolarWinds Storage Manager Agent service.
  3. Go to C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Storage Manager Agent\ and backup the SolarWinds.Storage.Agent.ini file.
  4. Edit the SolarWinds.Storage.Agent.ini file and find -Xmx parameter. Replace the default value with -Xmx4096M to increase the memory assigned to service to 4GB.
  5. Delete the folder: C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Storage Manager Agent\systemic\mod.sys.virtual.Virtual_1.0\data\.
  6. Restart the SolarWinds Storage Manager Agent service.
