Overview

This article details how to set alerts for Orion Core when a multi-core node has issues.

Environment

All SAM versions

Steps

Create a custom performance counter monitor if SAM is part of your Orion platform:

  1. Open the SAM Web Console.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Locate the performance counter for each machine on Windows.
  4. Create a template with three components, one for each machine.
Note: The cumulative counter that represents the average is the preferred counter to use.
  5. Set the critical levels for an alert. Use the value for threshold settings in the components.
  6. Set up a regular alert for the status of a component.
