Service accounts locking out from the polling engine

Updated March 10, 2017

Overview

This article overviews what may be happening if you are getting your service accounts locked out, with the source being the Orion server.

Environment

All SAM versions

Cause

This could be due to multiple reasons, but this article can help pinpoint if SAM is causing the issue or any other application.

Resolution

  1. Navigate to the Orion Server < open Database Manager.
  2. Look at the APM_CurrentApplicationStatus table.
  3. There should be a last time up column listed here.
  4. From here, you can differentiate what monitors have successfully polled after unlocking the account. The problem computer will probably have a different time stamp from the rest of your environment.
