SAM Apache template Perl Error unable access to xxx

Updated: October 19, 2017

When setting up the Apache Perl template according to these instructions, you receive the following message during testing:

Testing on node '' failed with 'Down' status ('Down' might be different if script exits with a different exit code).
unable access to xxx
Output: =====================================================
perl /tmp/ $ixxxx xxx
Message: unable access to xx
Statistic: 0
"; print "Statistic: 0\n"; exit

  • SAM All versions

The body of the scripts must be modified to input your custom port as it does not support redirection.

  1. Edit the Apache template.
  2. Expand the component monitors used in the SAM template.
  3. Edit the script body of each component and add after the $hostname: your custom port.

Example, if you have a custom port of 4400 you would replace:
$url = "$hostname/server-status?auto&match=www&errors=0";
$url variable: $url = "$hostname:4400/server-status?auto&match=www&errors=0";
