Put the URL in an alert when the HTTP monitor goes down

Overview

This article describes how to put the URL in an alert configured for the HTTP monitor to indicate the website that went down.

Environment

All versions of SAM

Steps

  1. In the HTTP Monitor, specify the URL in the User Notes section at the bottom of the monitor screen.
  2. Click Submit.
  3. In the Alert, go to Trigger Actions and click the Edit for the Send an Email/Page action.
  4. In the Message section, click Insert Variable.
  5. Search for User Notes (Component Alerting Properties) and click Insert Variable.
