SAM 5.5 and later versions does not support the Polling Engine Mode: “Local-Only.”

SAM 5.5 and later versions

The option to change Polling Engine Modes has been removed for SAM 5.5 and higher.

If you want to preserve the effect of local polling provided by earlier versions of SAM, you will need to migrate all nodes with applications assigned to them to the primary SAM server. For a list of nodes with application templates applied that are assigned to different pollers, download and run the attached report.

It is recommended that SAM be installed on all additional pollers, and that firewall policies and router access control lists are set accordingly to allow application polling to occur from those additional pollers before installing/upgrading to SAM 5.5.

For a list of port requirements for SolarWinds software, see Port Requirements for SolarWinds Products.
