Perfmon error: Can't load counters

Overview

This article provides brief information and a  resolution to the following error:

Can’t load counters appears when Windows Performance Monitor (Perfmon) is browsing remotely from another computer. The problem is the User Account Control (UAC) rule settings.

 

Even though your User ID is in the Administrator group, your privileges still may not be adequate.

All SAM versions

Resolution

Run as Administrator should be enough to load the counters and become visible in Perfmon.

To run as administrator, right-click on the .exe and click Run as Administrator.
