Object Relations not working for network devices managed as nodes in AppStack

Updated November 9, 2017

Overview

This article details an Object Relations issue for network devices managed as nodes with assigned applications, as displayed in the main AppStack overview and on the Node Details AppStack widget.

Environment

  • Orion Platform products
  • NPM
  • SAM
  • NCM

Cause

This issue caused a Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) device managed as a node with assigned SAM applications to display in the Servers section of the AppStack Environment page instead of the Applications section. The Node Details widget also indicated that the network device was a server, as shown in the following figure. Any network device with a node.IsServer==0 condition in its Orion.Stacks.Participation system entity can be affected.

Resolution

This issue will be fixed in a future release.
