Overview

This article explains how to monitor the certificate expiration date on different web sites on a single web server by adding an external node for each web site and then assigning the SSL Certificate Expiration Date template to the Node.

Note: This will not work for host-header based web sites that share the same IP.

Environment

  • All SAM versions
  • All Windows versions

Steps

  1. Go to Settings > Add Node.
  2. Give the node the address to the web site.
  3. Set the Polling Method to External Node. Click Next.
  4. On the Add Application Monitors step, change the Show only option to SSL.
  5. Select the SSL Certificate Expiration Date template.
  6. Select the Inherit credentials from template. Click Next.
  7. Click OK, Add Node.
