Environment

All SAM versions

Resolution

  1. Open CLI in Administrator context,
  2. Type: cd "%systemroot%\system32\inetsrv\"
  3. Then type: appcmd.exe unlock config -section:system.webServer/security/authentication/windowsAuthentication
  4. Open PS in Administrator context, and type the following commands:
    • Import-Module WebAdministration: (Get-WebConfiguration system.webServer/security/authentication/windowsAuthentication 'IIS:\sites\Default Web Site\PowerShell').enabled
    • If value returned is 'False, type: Set-WebConfiguration system.webServer/security/authentication/windowsAuthentication 'IIS:\sites\Default Web Site\PowerShell' -value True
