Unable to monitor Windows scheduled tasks as non-admin user account in SAM

Overview

User accounts without administrator privileges cannot monitor Windows Scheduled Tasks.

Environment

SAM v6.1 and later

Cause

Due to security reasons and a known limitation of the Windows Operating system, the user credentials used to monitor Windows Scheduled Tasks must be a member of the Administrators group on the remote computer.

Resolution

As a workaround, use the Orion Agent included in the SAM v6.2 release which does not use admin privileges for polling.
