Unable to add Azure VMs/Instances

Updated May 25. 2018

When attempting to add or view Azure VMs/instances, the system eventually times out and displays the following message:

Azure account automonitoring poller has failed with unexpected error. This may be a temporary issue. Please try again in a few seconds.

  • SAM 6.5
  • SAM 6.6

Two VMs share the same name but are assigned to different resource groups. This redundancy interrupts polling logic, which expects each machine name to unique for the Azure subscription.

SAM was updated to recognize VMs with identical names that are in different resource groups. Upgrade to SAM 6.6.1 on Orion Platform 2018.2.
