Test Connection Fails When You Are Adding a Cloud Account

Overview

When you press Test Connection on an Azure gov account, you receive the following error message: 

 

Test Connection Failed An error occurred while sending the request.

 

The log c:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\Logs\CloudMonitoring\CloudMonitoring.Jobs.log contains the following error message:

 

ERROR SolarWinds.CloudMonitoring.Jobs.AzureTestConnectionJob - Azure credential test failed with error: An error occurred while sending the request.

 

The log c:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\Logs\VIM\CloudMonitoring\Collector\CollectorJobs*.log shows following error (note the URL):

 

ERROR SolarWinds.VIM.CloudMonitoring.Pollers.Azure.AccountAutomonitoringPoller - Unable to get azure VMs.
System.AggregateException: One or more errors occurred. ---> System.Net.Http.HttpRequestException: An error occurred while sending the request. ---> System.Net.WebException: The remote name could not be resolved: 'login.microsoftonline.us2f9c6dca-8aad-4487-a173-49c5b1f28de4'
   at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.EndGetRequestStream(IAsyncResult asyncResult, TransportContext& context)
   at System.Net.Http.HttpClientHandler.GetRequestStreamCallback(IAsyncResult ar)

Environment

  • SAM, all versions

Cause 

The login URL is invalid.

Resolution

  1. Ensure there is a forward slash ('/') at the end of the AuthorizationEndpoint URL.
