Special character not escaped in PowerShell Script

Updated 8-22-2016

Overview

In SAM, PowerShell scripts used for Microsoft.PowerShell session configuration contain a placeholder of ${PASSWORD} as seen in this code: $password = '${PASSWORD}' You should replace the placeholder including the single quotes. SAM does not escape the single quotes. If you do not remove the single quotes, data may not poll for AppInsight for IIS.

Environment

  • SAM 6.2.4

Cause

Single quotes for the password placeholder are not escaped. You should replace these when adding a password for the PowerShell script.

Resolution

Remove the single quotes when adding the password.
