In this video broadcast, Head Geek™ Tom LaRock is joined by Karen Lopez, Tim Chapman, and David Klee. They’ve known each other for many years, so this discussion was like four friends getting together to talk data and databases. Server & Application Monitor (SAM) 6.5

Server & Application Monitor (SAM) 6.5 provides continuous monitoring and troubleshooting solutions for applications and networks in highly dynamic, ever-changing environments. SAM 6.4 added the ability to monitor status and metrics for Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud instances and attached volumes; SAM 6.5 extends cloud service support to Microsoft Azure cloud VMs and attached volumes.

    Other improvements include:

    • Performance Analysis (PerfStack) 2.0 – Navigate directly from Application Detail pages to predefined sets of application monitor metrics.
    • ARM Linux Agent – Install an Orion Agent on ARM-based devices such as Raspberry Pi.
    • New SAM templates for Microsoft products – See the SAM 6.5 Release Notes.
    • Database Performance Analyzer (DPA) data — Add database wait time and metric data from DPA to any Orion PerfStack chart, allowing you to mix and match data from applications, network, and infrastructure with wait time performance metrics

You can also compare SAM 6.5 with previous releases of SAM.
