Select All Applications and a maintenance mode affects all applications in SAM

Updated: 5-1-2017

Overview

The Select All Applications and using a management option (unmanage/remanage), all applications are unmanaged or remanaged not only the assigned applications. This issue occurs when you open the Manage Assigned Application Monitors page and group by Application Monitor Template. Only the specific applications assigned application monitors or the template display. Using the option to Select All Applications should only select the listed applications. However, the option selects all applications monitored by SAM and completes any select unmanage or manage actions.

This issue does not occur when using the Delete action.

As a work-around, select specific applications using the checkboxes and select Maintenance Mode > Manage or Unmanage.

Environment

  • SAM 6.4

Cause

The Select All Applications function for Maintenance Mode actions affects all applications monitored by SAM, not just the selected applications for an application monitor/template.

Resolution

As a work-around, only use the selectable checkboxes for specific applications. This issue will be resolved in a later release.
