SCCM Application Monitor: Component Down

Overview

The Component Down error occurs when assigning Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2012 (SCCM) Application Monitor.

Environment

  • SAM 6.2.4

Resolution

  1. Make sure that the following prerequisites and credentials are met:
    1. Verify WMI has access to the target server.
    2. Enter credentials for the Windows Administrator on the target server.
  2. If not, install PowerShell 2.0 and WinRM on the SAM and target servers.
  3. On the SAM server, open a command prompt as an administrator: Start menu > Right-click cmd.exe > Select Run as Administrator.
  4. Enter the following in the command:

    quickconfig winrm
    winrm set winrm/config/client @{TrustedHosts="*"}
    
  5. On the target server, open a command prompt as an Administrator and enter the following:
    quickconfig winrm
    winrm set winrm/config/client @{TrustedHosts="IP_ADDRESS"}
    

    IP_ADDRESS: IP address of your SAM server.
