Out-of-the-box scheduled task triggers a false alert

Overview

The out-of-the-box Alert me when task last run result is non-successful alert in SAM Scheduled Tasks triggers false alerts when an instance is already running.

Environment

All SAM versions

Resolution

This is not a false alert because the task failed or was unsuccessful. Perform the following steps if you need to exclude the alert:

  1. Open the Orion Web Console.
  2. Go to Manage Alerts > Edit Alert.
  3. Add the following conditions:
    • Where all child conditions must NOT be satisfied
    • Scheduled Task Last Run Result (Windows scheduled task) > is equal to > An instance of this task is already running
