Oracle User Experience component monitor and ODP.NET Managed Driver error

Updated 10-20-2016

Overview

To monitor different Oracle versions using the Oracle Database template and Oracle User Experience component monitor, you will need to install the latest ODP.NET Managed Driver. Any Oracle UX monitors may give you an error if do not have the correct driver installed: "managed part of Oracle client doesn't match unmanaged part of client". To resolve, install the latest ODP.NET Managed Driver.

Environment

  • SAM 6.2 and later
  • Oracle Database and Oracle User Experience component monitor

Cause

The ODP.NET Managed Driver installed with SAM may not be the latest driver required for monitoring all Oracle database versions. You may receive manage/unmanage mismatch version errors for your Oracle templates and component monitors.

Resolution

To monitor all Oracle versions, download and install the latest ODP.NET Managed Driver and libraries from your Oracle vendor site. Once installed, any templates using the Oracle User Experience (UX) monitor of your Oracle Database template should stop throwing errors.

Visit the Oracle driver site for a list of available drivers. Please note, this link is maintained by a vendor third party site and may change.
