ORA-00911 Invalid Character returned from Oracle User Experience Monitor

Table of contents

Updated February 13, 2018

Overview

When testing a component on the Oracle User Experience Monitor, one may customize the SQL that is sent to Oracle.  When you press TEST on the component, or if the component is deployed, the Oracle error code ORA-00911 is returned.

Environment

  • Oracle all versions
  • SAM all versions

Detail

Oracle commands typically are delimited with a semicolon (;) . The SolarWinds Oracle User Experience monitor does not need a semi-colon to delimit the SQL string passed to Oracle. In the Oracle User Experience monitor, the SQL query should not end with a semicolon.
