Monitor NTP (Server Clock Drift) on Linux / Unix Based Systems

Overview

This article describes how to set up a Server Clock Drift (Perl) monitor.

Steps

  1. Log into the Orion Web Console 
  2. Go to SAM Settings > Manage Templates and search for "Server Clock Drift".
  3. Select the Server Clock Drift (Perl) option and click Edit.
  4. Disable the Clock Drift (Internet Time Service) component.
  5. Edit the Clock Drift (NTP) component to specify your NTP server in the Script Arguments section and click Submit.
  6. Search for the Server Clock Drift (Perl) template again.
  7. Select the box and then click Assign to Node.
  8. Select your nodes, click the green arrow, and then click Next.
  9. Click Assign Application Monitors and then click Done on the next page that appears.
