Resolution

Open PowerShell session in Administrator context.

  • To view if the management role has been assigned to a particular service account, type:
    Get-ManagementRoleAssignment -RoleAssignee "<serviceaccount/>" -Role "Mailbox Search" | Where-Object {$_.RoleAssignmentDelegationType -eq "Regular"}
  • To add a service account to the "Mailbox Search" management role, type:
    New-ManagementRoleAssignment -Role "Mailbox Search" -User "<serviceaccount/>"
