Metrics missing for AWS cloud instances after upgrade (SAM 6.4 and VMAN 8.0)

Updated

11/15/2017

Overview

If metrics do not appear for a polled AWS instance on the Cloud Summary page in the Orion Web Console, the Custom Logging library may have been overwritten during an upgrade. To resolve this issue, copy the Custom Logging library file (SolarWinds.Logging.CustomLogging.dll) from the C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\Recommendations folder to the C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\VIM folder. (Paths vary based on where Orion is installed.)

Environment

  • SAM 6.4
  • VMAN 8.0

Cause

The latest version of the CustomLogging library may have been overwritten during an upgrade.

Resolution

Copy Solarwinds.Logging.CustomLogging.dll from the C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\Recommendations folder to the C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\VIM folder. (Paths vary based on where Orion is installed.)

This issue will be fixed in a future SAM release.
