WebinarUpcoming Webinar: Know What’s Changed – with NEW Server Configuration Monitor

Change management in IT is critical. But, even with a good change management process, changes are too often not correctly tracked, if at all. The configuration of your servers and applications is a key factor in their performance, availability, and security. Many incidents can be tracked back to an authorized (and sometimes unauthorized) configuration change, whether to a system file, configuration file, or Windows® Registry entry. Join SolarWinds VP of product management Brandon Shopp to discover how the new SolarWinds® Server Configuration Monitor is designed to help you.

Import templates into SAM require XML files with .apm-template extension

Updated 2-14-2017

SAM templates should be in XML format with the file extension .apm-template. When importing, verify the file type and extension. If you have a zip file for the template, unzip files before importing. If the file name or type is not correct, you will receive an invalid error. If you receive the error when importing from THWACK, you need to check the files in THWACK.

For details, see the SAM Administrator Guide. To create templates, see the SAM Custom Template Guide.

You may receive an invalid format error when importing an incorrect file type (XML required), incorrect file name (.apm-template required), or attempt to import a zip file.

If you receive this when importing from THWACK, visit the template page in THWACK to verify the format. If it is a zip file, unzip and import as a file.

For details, see the SAM Administrator Guide.

Verify the file type is XML coded.

Verify the extension is .apm-template.

Unzip any zip files and import the contents.
