Overview

Hardware Health Monitoring is not working in SAM 6.1.1 and earlier after upgrading to NPM 12.0

Environment

  • SAM 6.1.1 and earlier
  • NPM 12.0

Resolution

This has been addressed in SAM 6.2. If you are unable to upgrade to SAM 6.2, perform the following workaround:

  1. After installation of NPM 12, stop all SolarWinds services and delete the following files:
    ..\Common Files\SolarWinds\Collector\Plugins\APM.HardwareHealth.VMware.plugin 
    ..\SolarWinds\Orion\APM\SolarWinds.APM.VMwareJobExtension.dll 
    ..\SolarWinds\Orion\APM\SolarWinds.APM.VMwareJobExtension.dll.config 
  2. Restart SolarWinds services.
