Find Microsoft Azure account credentials

As you work with Azure accounts in the Orion Web Console (for example, to add a cloud account), you may be prompted to provide the following credentials:

  • Used by Microsoft to manage billing.
  • Grants access to the Azure Portal.
  • Governs access to and use of Azure services.
  • Each deployed resource is linked to only one subscription.

  • When you generate a secret Key in the Azure Portal, record it immediately. Otherwise, you will need to a generate a new key later.

Find a Subscription ID

  1. Log into the Azure Portal.
  2. In the side panel, click More services > Subscriptions. Alternatively, click Resource Explorer > Subscription, depending on how Azure is configured.
  3. Record the Subscription ID for later use in the Orion Web Console.


Find a Tenant/Directory ID

  1. In the side panel of the Azure Portal, click Azure Active Directory.
  2. Click Properties.
  3. Record the Directory ID for later use as the Tenant/Directory ID in the Orion Web Console.



Another way to access Subscription and Tenant/Directory IDs is to log into the Azure Portal, click the Help icon, click Show Diagnostics, and retrieve IDs from the JSON file.

Find a Client/Application ID and generate an Application Secret Key

  1. In the side panel of the Azure Portal, click Azure Active Directory.
  2. Click App registrations.
  3. Click the Azure AD app created for the Orion Platform in the Azure Portal.


  4. Record the Application ID for later use as the Client/Application ID in the Orion Web Console.

  5. Click All settings > Keys to open the Keys pane.


  6. Generate a key for the AD app.
    1. Enter a Description of the key.
    2. For Duration, select Never expires.
    3. Click Save to display the key in the Value field.
  7. Record the characters in the Value field for later use as the Application Secret Key in the Orion Web Console.

    Record the key immediately. Otherwise, you will need to a generate a new key later.
