Error when applying Server Clock Drift (PowerShell)

Overview

This article provides brief information and steps to resolve the error when applying Server Clock Drift (PowerShell).

This error returns when the target time server refuses a connection.

This is global address for all time servers (http://tf.nist.gov/tf-cgi/servers.cgi). It is possible that each script execution connects to different time servers. Not all time servers are always available.

Environment

All  SAM versions

Cause

The error is caused when users query a server more frequently than once every four seconds. Systems that exceed this rate will be refused service. In extreme cases, systems that exceed this limit may be considered as attempting a denial-of-service attack.

Resolution

Ensure the correct address of the server and that queries exceed four seconds.
