Overview

This article provides brief information and steps to resolve the following error:

Hardware polling failed: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: credentials.

Environment

All SAM versions

Cause

The user runs a Network Sonar Discovery after upgrading with the following options:

  • IP range of existing nodes
  • SNMP community strings are not specified or only invalid SNMP community strings are specified
  • Valid WMI credentials are specified

Resolution

The following is a workaround:

Click on the List Resources button on the affected node, select Hardware Health, and then submit the changes.

There is no way to fix this for multiple nodes at once.
