Empty Web Console screens after SQL migration or restore

Overview

Some screens in the Web Console are blank or empty such as Alerts or Manage Actions after an SQL migration or an SQL DB restore of the Orion repository.

Environment

  • All Orion versions
  • All SAM versions

Cause

This is caused by referential integrity issues in the database. This can result from a filesystem backup of an active/hot database or filecopy of a hot database.

Filesystem backups or filesystem copies must be done on a cold/shutdown database. Otherwise backups on an active database can be done through hot database backups.

Resolution

Redo the migration with a new database backup and restore or filesystem restore where backup was done on a shutdown SQL database.
