Create Windows Event Logs to monitor Failover events

Overview

This article will guide you how to create a Windows Event Logs component to monitor Failover events.

Environment

  • SAM 6.2 and above

Steps

  1. Login to the Orion web console as an administrator.
  2. Go to All settings > SAM Settings > Manage application Monitors > Create new template.
  3. Add Windows component set the settings as per below:

    * Note: Make sure that fetching method is set to RPC it will not with WMI as there are no classes for "Operational" logs

  4. Trigger the failover and the component that you've created should be marked as down.
