Change the default VIM connection port for polling

Table of contents

Overview

This article details how to change the VIM polling from the default port 443 to a non default port.

Environment

VIM 1.9 or later

Steps

Run the following query against the database:

insert into dbo.VIM_ServiceURIs(ServiceURI) values ('https://{0}:444/sdk')

Two records in the table that look like the following appear:

https://{0}/sdk

https://{0}:444/sdk

You may now be able to collect data on both 443 and 444 ports against Vcenters.
