Overview

This article provides brief information on the following AppInsight for IIS error: 

Bad input parameter. an unexpected error occurred during the log parsing process.


Environmental Impact:

  • Top XX Page Requests by Average Server Execution Time resource (will not be displayed).
  • Site Details resources (Displays incorrect log file path).
  • Log Size by File (Will be hidden if the directory does not exist).
  • Error in the log parsing component is displayed on the application details page
  • There is an error in the application debug logs stating, The log file cannot be found.

Environment

All SAM versions

Cause

Logging in the IIS Manager is set to be at the Server level.

Resolution

The following is a workaround:

Switch logging in the IIS Manager to be at the Site level.
