AppInsight for IIS: Create a firewall rule

Overview

This article provides steps to create firewall rules for IIS. 

SolarWinds has created a PowerShell script to create a firewall rule (attached) suitable for AppInsight for IIS.

Environment

All SAM versions

Steps

1. Download the PowerShell script.

2. Execute the script. Right-click and apply the following:

  • Without parameters:The rule will be created with the default name, Windows Remote Management HTTP/SSL for port 5986.
  • With one parameter:Non-default custom port.
  • With two parameters:Non-default custom port and rule name

 

For example, with one parameter: 5988
For example, with two parameters: 5988 My custom firewall rule name
