Overview

When polling AppInsight for IIS, the following error displays for some components:

Unexpected error occurred. error while processing component ABIM:xxxx, error details:
Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'UnmanagedByApplication', table
'NetPerfMon.dbo.APM_IisBb_ApplicationPool'; column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails.
The statement has been terminated.

Environment

Server and Application Monitor 6.2.x

Cause

This issue occurs because the Additional Polling Engine which the application is being polled is using a different version of SAM than the Primary Poller.

Resolution

  1. RDP to the Additional Polling Engine.
  2. Run > appwiz.cpl.
  3. Find "Solarwinds Server and Application Monitor"
  4. Ensure that it matches the exact version of the primary. If it does not, upgrade the APE to the same version as the primary.
