AppInsight for Exchange does not poll with the Agent

Overview

The zero config of AppInsight for Exchange does not function properly with the agent.

If an agent is applied to a node and then AppInsight for Exchange is added (while monitoring it with the agent) and zero config is attempted, the process completes but does not poll.

Environment

SAM 6.2.3 and earlier with AppInsight for Exchange and the agent

Resolution

  1. Swap the polling method of the node from agent to WMI or SNMP.
  2. Apply AppInsight for Exchange to the node.
  3. Run through the Configure server while the node is being monitored by WMI or SNMP.
  4. Once the configuration has been completed, swap the node back to Agent based polling.
