AppInsight for Exchange: The Configure Server button fails to complete successfully on Windows Server 2008

Overview

The Configure Server button fails to complete successfully on Windows Server 2008.

Environment

All SAM versions

Cause

By default, Windows Server 2008 does not have PowerShell 2.0 or WinRM 2.0 installed. These are prerequisites for Exchange 2010 and must be installed.

Resolution

Install the following components:

Note: PowerShell 1.0 which comes standard with 2008 and uses PowerShell Snapins instead of modules. IIS 7, which comes with Server 2008 uses the IIS PowerShell Snapin.
