Alert filtering based on Alert Severity for NOC View

Table of contents

Updated October 6, 2016

Overview

This article overviews how to filter out alerts in the Web Console NOC views so that certain users/teams do not see certain alerts.

Environment

  • All SAM versions
  • All NPM versions

Steps

  1. Create a Custom Property for Alerts called “HideFromAlertsViews” or whatever is preferable (format Yes/No).
  2. Edit the custom alert.
  3. Change the “HideFromAlertsViews” value to “Yes”.
  4. Exit NOC view.
  5. Customize page.
  6. Custom table.
  7. Report on active alerts.
  8. Change the data source settings to “HideFromAlertsViews” is equal to “No”.

This way it does not show up on any NOC views with the proper filtering. You can still have internal views not filtered or just get the emails.
