Include Custom Property values in Alerts

Overview

This article provides the macros you can use within an Alert Action to pull a Custom Property value from a Node, a Volume, an interface or an Application.

Environment

  • SAM version 6.2.0 or later
  • All Windows versions

Steps

1. Edit the Alert Action you wish to add the Custom Property to.

2. Enter one of the following Macros:

 

  • For the Custom Property of a Node:

${N=SwisEntity;M=Node.CustomProperties.[PropertyName]}

 

  • For the Custom Property of a Volume or an Interface:

${N=SwisEntity;M=CustomProperties.[PropertyName]} 

 

  • For the Custom Property of an Application:

 

SQL:
${SQL: SELECT [PropertyName] FROM APM_ApplicationCustomProperties WHERE ApplicationID =${N=SwisEntity;M=ApplicationID;F=OriginalValue} }

 

SWIS:
${N=SWQL;M=SELECT [PropertyName] FROM Orion.APM.ApplicationcustomProperties WHERE ApplicationID =${N=SwisEntity;M=ApplicationID;F=OriginalValue}}


Note: Replace [PropertyName] with the name of the Custom Property.

 

3. Click Save Changes.
