How to mass modify Alert Actions

Overview

This describes how to mass change Alert Actions such as:

  • The SMTP Server for E-Mails
  • E-Mail / NetPerfmon Event Log Messages
  • Receiver Addresses
  • Mass Enable/Disable Actions

Environment

  • 6.2.0 And later (or versions where Action Manager is available in the Web Console)

Steps

  1. Navigate to the Orion Web Console.
  2. Navigate to Settings in the top right of the Web Console.
  3. Click Manage Alerts in the Alerts & Reports Section.
  4. Click the Action Manager tab.
  5. You can group actions by selecting the dropdown under Group By:
    • The grouping options available are Action Type, Enabled, and the Assigned Alert
    • You can only mass edit actions of the same type
  6. Check the box to the left of the actions to edit, and select Edit Action.
  7. From here,  select the part of the action to edit by checking that particular box, and filling in the proper form.
