Hardware Health - HP Blade Chassis poller displays 'Object Reference...' when SNMP timeouts

Overview

The HP Blade Chassis poller displays 'Object Reference...' within the hardware health of the node being polled by SNMP.

Environment

​SAM 6.2.2

Cause 

This issue can be caused by a problem with the polling method of the node.  

Resolution

  1. ​Find the node with the "Object Reference..." message on the Web Console.
  2. In Management widget, click List Resources button on the node.
  3. Select Hardware Health Sensors.
  4. Select Ensure that SNMP option of Status & Response Time.
  5. Click Submit. Wait for a few minutes until the Last Database Update in Polling Details widget has been updated.
  6. Open Orion Service Manager.
  7. Click Shutdown Everything.
  8. Click Start Everything.
  9. Find the node again and click Poll Now. Wait for a few minutes until the poll finishes. 
    Notes: 
    - The "Object Reference..." message should disappear, and it should be replaced with a correct information.
    - If you have a several of nodes with this issue, perform steps 2 through 5 for each of them before and then proceed to step 6 through 10.
