Change the component settings for an existing monitor

Overview

There are different levels at which you can change the settings for monitors in SAM. If you change settings for a monitor or component within a template, it cascades to all node/application/component monitors that template has been assigned to.

 

Note: Many of the components within AppInsight templates cannot be edited.

Environment

SAM 6.2 and later​

Steps

  1. Go to Settings > SAM Settings > Manage Application Monitors.
  2. Select the monitor you want to modify and then click Edit Properties.
  3. In the monitor, scroll down to the component list and select the component you want to modify.
    Note: Some of the options require you to override the template to modify them.
