This article describes how to change the SolarWinds syslog server port.

Warning:

  • SolarWinds strongly recommends that you only edit the SyslogService.exe.config file as instructed. Any additional modifications may result in system performance issues or may create an error state.
  • Save a copy of the original SyslogService.exe.config file to your local drive as a backup file, in case you need to roll back later.
     
  1. Locate the SyslogService.exe.config file in C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion
  2. Open the file with a text editor.
  3. Locate the following line:
    <add key="UDPListenPort" value="514"/>
  4. Change to your preferred value.
  5.  Save the file and restart the Solarwinds syslog service.
