Applications are not working on Agent Managed Nodes

Overview

If you are monitoring a node via an agent due to Firewall restrictions or other reasons, and find yourself unable to monitor applications on those nodes, then you may be experiencing the following:

  • The application is set to "Agentless" polling instead of utilizing the agent
  • If you switch this application monitor to use "Agent", then it will try and utilize the agent on the parent node to obtain this information.

Environment

SAM 6.2 or later​

Resolution

  1. Navigate to the application monitor that is having issues.
  2. Click Edit Application Monitor.
  3. Expand the + Advanced' section.
  4. Under Preferred Polling Method, make sure that this is set to "Agent" instead of "Agentless"
