AppInsight for SQL: Database status is not calculated correctly in all cases

Overview

This article provides brief information and steps to resolve the issue when the Database status is not correctly calculated in all cases.

After a successful poll, the application results in a status Down even when the database is in the Up state. Also, child components are reported as being Down.

Cause

The issue is caused when the AutoClose flag on the SQL database is enabled. 

Resolution

Disable the AutoClose flag on the SQL database.
