Overview

When utilizing AppInsight for Exchange, there may be some issues where the DAG returns an unexpected status. This articles will provide the PowerShell command to show what SAM is getting from the Exchange server.

Environment

All SAM versions monitoring with AppInsight for Exchange

Resolution

  1. Open an Exchange PowerShell command prompt on the Exchange server.
  2. Run the following command:
    Commandlet to get database copies status:
    Get-MailboxDatabaseCopyStatus | Select-Object DatabaseName, ActiveCopy, ActiveDatabaseCopy, Status, ContentIndexState, CopyQueueLength, ReplayQueueLength
  3. The result will show what the Exchange server is sending to Orion for Active statuses on the DAGs.
    This result can be compared with the Orion Web Console.
