Overview

This articles provides steps on how to add support for a WebLogic server to poll MBeans.

Environment

All SAM versions

Steps

Note: The following steps only apply when files shipped with SAM are not compatible with a WebLogic installation, (i.e. possible version mismatch).

  1. On your WebLogic host, navigate to the folder where the WebLogic server was installed. It is typically installed at Oracle/Middleware/wlserver_<version>/server/lib</version>.Locate the wlclient.jar and wljmxclient.jar libraries.

  2. On your Orion server, start Orion Service Manager. It should be located atStart > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Advanced features.

  3. Find the SolarWinds JMX Bridge service and stop this service from running.

Important: Existing JMX components cannot be polled and can go into a down state before you restart the service. To keep the down time to a minimum, perform following steps:

    1. Copy the wlclient.jar and wljmxclient.jar libraries to your Orion server. The target folder for these files is typically C:\Program Files(x86)\Orion\APM\jmxbridge\lib. Note: You will need to overwrite the existing files.

    2. In the Orion Service Manager, start the SolarWinds JMX Bridge service.
  4. You are now able to poll WebLogic server MBeans.
