Set the default Web Client for Windows or authenticated users

Overview

This article outlines how to set a default landing page for Serv-U users and groups. This is useful if you use a mixture of Windows/LDAP Authenticated users and Local Serv-U users where different groups have different requirements.

Environment

Serv-U 12 and later

Steps

  • To set the default Web Client as File Sharing:
    Go to Domain > Groups > Windows Groups > Configure Windows User Group > Group Information > Default Web Client.
  • To restrict Windows Authenticated users from using file sharing:
    Go to Domain > Groups > Windows Groups > Configure Windows User Group > Limits and Settings > HTTP where you will find the option to enable/disable Web Client, and so on.
  • To enable/disable File Sharing:
    Go to Domain > Groups > Windows Groups > Configure Windows User Group > Limits and Settings > File Sharing.
