Recover Password button not working for LDAP users

Overview

This article explains why the Recover Password button is not working for LDAP users.

 

Environment

  • Serv-U version 15.x

Detail

 

When using web client and you have the Allow Users to Recover Password enabled, when users click on this button it may seem like the button is not working if the account you are trying to use is an LDAP account. 

 

Serv-U does not have the capability to recover password for LDAP users. 

 

If you will also try configure LDAP group and check limits & settings > password > there is no item there for "Allow users to recover passwords". This is only configured at the domain level and applies to users that are local to Serv-U.

 

If you want to disable this for the local users, you can follow the steps below:

 

1. Go to Domain Limits & Settings.
2. On Limits drop down menu select Password.
3. Make sure to set "Allow users to recover passwords" to No.
